Just finished: On Literature by Umberto Eco. I really enjoyed this; as I said last time, it feels like having an intellectual discussion with an old friend. It's both impressive and horrifying in that no matter how old some of his political writing gets, it feels timely and relevant to the moment. (This is, of course, because he grew up in fascist Italy.) On a more pleasant note, the last essay is on Eco's own writing process and he mentions that while he wrote a whole bunch of unfinished novels in his childhood and teens, he didn't even start writing The Name of the Rose until he was 46.
Currently reading: Middlegame by Seanan McGuire. I just started reading this and it's about alchemy and secret organizations, so obviously I'm into it so far.
