I don't really know enough about Australia's politics to comment. I keep feeling like it's better to have one's fate decided by 100% of the adult population rather than, say, 16% that hates you and wants you to die, as happens here, but it'd be awful to find out that a much larger percentage of the population hates you and wants you to die.
