What sort of story would you like to hear? How about a steampunk story of a mystical anarchist in a sprawling city-state called Carthage; a young man has come to the realization that his whole life has led to this moment when he must become the prophet of the New Jerusalem, the Visionary Commonwealth; and that in order to achieve this goal, he must go through a series of challenges like a knight-errant; but who really just wants to run away with the lovely barmaid, Moira? That would be a neat story, wouldn't it?
A story? I went for a drink and some dinner with my workmates today. We split the bill but it turned out that we had miscalculated and put in much less than we thought. We found this out because, after paying, we were standing outside the pub chatting when the waiter walks out to us and says "What's the matter, did I not give you good service? I mean, I got you all the beer you asked for." Then he insisted we take our 2 dollar tip back because he felt insulted by it. We gave him more money and he said "thanks guys" and we went off on our way. That felt kind of wierd though.
When I was 7, I was obsessed with blimps and dirigibles. I even wrote a book called Jess Wants a Blimp, a fictional work in which the protagonist, a thinly-veiled version of me, wanted a blimp and then acquired one.
Jess doesn't want a blimp so much anymore. :/
I have some old German postcards I bought at an antiques store in my "Shit to Scan" box. Someday...
I wish I did. I lost everything I owned when I was 17 (hence no middle school photos to share). My Dad has some photos up to about age 4 and some old elementary school report cards, but there's a dearth of evidence of my existence between my birth certificate and my high school diploma.
I went out and danced and drank last night and it was wonderful.
I also cut my hair, pics forthcoming, and had a couple of people fail to recognize me. However, I was getting lots of ::ahem:: attention from people, so I'm thinking it works.
But later in the night, I was recognized by a woman I lived with when I was 19 and we were both hippies and etc. That was a little weird but mostly cool.
Ah, who cares how effective they are when they are so graceful and impressive!
Aeroplanes are a capitalist mode of transportation obsessed with efficiency and profit! Down with bourgeois transportation! Up with zeppelins! Are you with me, comrades?
winnipeg copwatch had a workshop on how to use video cameras wednesday night. A journalist from the Free Press (this is the city's major paper) was there and wrote a surprisingly good article on us. I'll add a link to it later when my brain can think (it's kind of late and I'm tired right now). This in and of itself is sort of weird, but it gets bizarre. We have been contacted to do a column in the same paper! I'm not sure if they want a one-time op-ed piece or a regular column, I guess we'll find out soon enough.
The perfect one would be a cross between the two: Something Art Nouveau and curvilinear to complete the nautical Jules Verne look. Half brass industrial, half chambered nautilus.
Several of those postcards...
could be Neutral Milk Hotel album covers.

Re: Several of those postcards...
Oh, and there will be airships and hover cars... in case that helps.

Re: Several of those postcards...
Yeah... I wish somebody would get busy and write the damn thing. That way, I wouldn't have to...
Meh. Being a writer is overrated.

Then I went home and died.
The End.

A lot of people don't recognize me these days, which is sad.
