 Good morning! I'm still really perturbed by the fact that apparently Jacob Rees-Mogg wears that top hat outside like an actual Dickensian villain, and on purpose, and not at a steampunk convention, and it's not Photoshopped on like I thought up until yesterday.

I generally prefer stories with the villains have some kind of complex motivation beyond "I am evil muahaha I shall eat the ENTIRE WORLD" but I guess reality isn't always like that.

I tried to explain Jacob Rees-Mogg and his whole 19th-century thing to [personal profile] vass once and they said "Oh, a cosplayer" and I've never heard a more accurate and damning response.

(Note: this is not in any way a slam on cosplayers, only on people who choose to treat the real world as a LARP in which they're trying to bring back workhouses.)
