They went and elected the smarmy fascist hobgoblin as the next PM. I don't approve of bullying as a general rule, but that guy was clearly not pantsed enough in middle school, and now we're stuck with him.

First they need to get to a general federal election to make that happen. And there's no guarantee - only traditional political culture/history - that Poilievre will be able to get that PM's chair and office. Certainly, we can't afford to underestimate this particular murdersmirker. Too many of us underestimated Trump in the US, Bolsonaro in Brazil, Orban in Hungary and too many others elsewhere across the planet over the past couple of decades. Canada is not immune to this, true. Also true is that we can still act to avert the worst.

We can, but like. My experience is that once the media has declared someone's victory inevitable, it is so. And they have.

Canadian media, I mean. Once they said Ford majority, it was Ford majority no matter how badly he fucked up. They didn't question him about his platform or anything like that, and barely covered the other candidates.
