Currently reading: Maej by Dale Stromberg. I'm about a third of the way through. It's very slow-going besides the length, owing to the very clever but very dense use of language and dialect. Large parts read as though they're in Middle English, for example, although that's not entirely what he's doing. I won't go into tons of detail (it's signed, but not in its final form) but it's got some extremely inventive language things that I'm nerding out about, and the magic system is one of the coolest I've seen in a good long time. I can, of course, text the author and ask if it's Dying Earth because it feels a lot like Dying Earth, and as you know, Bob, this is one of my favourite things. But I prefer to be surprised.
Ishmael, where are you? Did you get lost at sea? There hasn't been a missive in awhile.

That said, if a crashed space ship turns up I'll not be surprised.

That said, he's never really finished a series, and does seem to be doubling down on fantasy tropes in things I have not read (the history books).
But I am hoping for a Tuf appearance.
