And now for a Double Header Podcast Friday!
Wizards & Spaceships: "A New World In Our Hearts ft. Ken MacLeod." Ken's work is very much sci-fi through a socialist lens, and I love it, so he's a perfect person to talk about utopian SFF. Which, I'm sure you'll be shocked to know, is one of my special interests. It's a wide-ranging conversation covering everything from some of the earliest utopian novels to contemporary work, Russian Cosmism to why so many utopian visions include an agrarian-based economy. And of course, he was good friends with Iain M. Banks and worked with him closely on the Culture series, which for my money remains the greatest sci-fi utopian work ever. It's a fascinating discussion that could have gone on for hours more.
Writers Not Writing: "Episode 84 with Rachel A. Rosen." Writers Not Writing is about procrastination and distractions and all of the things that stop writers from writing, and it's very funny and relatable. So you know. You should listen to/watch this one. No reason in particular.
