As long as it gives their people all the benefits thereof, I say that would rock.

I'd think it awesome for everyone having indoor plumbing should they desire it and clean drinking water. There's no reason why this can't be true for everyone on this planet if we put our minds and hands to it. Weather poses some problems, but still.

They're sort of softie reformists. But America is a two party system, so they'll never actually be able to reform anything. I should just stop lying to myself and vote commie, really.

Yes, and the freem-hating turrrists. Or is it turrrrists?

Hmm, lemme give it a go:

"Freem-hating turrrists"
"Freem-hating turrrrists"

...Yeah, that second one sounds about right.

I can't decide if you're being un-American or not

Well most Americans don't vote. So not voting in our elections quite an American thing to do.

a friend of mine who is Israeli by birth has almost convinced me that voting is worthless in this country. in california we have a ton of propositions we get to vote on, and those make sense, and maybe in local elections where people actually can and try to make a difference. but at the national level, i've given up hope of a vote having any meaning or value. every last person running right now is a scheister. war hawks, reverend right wing huckabee, a mormon, a clinton, someone who would abolish public schools, and obama and edwards. do any of them really have something believable and meaningful to say???

if nadar stops running for national election AND i continue to go to the polls, i'm just going to write in either his name, or my name on the ballot - which we can do in CA, maybe i'll write you in for senator. you'd like that job, non?

That's good. I'd have to question how New York went to Hillary if Canadians were allowed to vote.

I think you're right. She'd also do well in a lot of Europe.

I want my country to have elections... and perhaps political and or distinctive social ideals that focus on something other than Capitalism, Racism and "Security".

I'm swinging between Greens (the eco-freaks, which have no mandate in the Knesset at the moment) and Reds (who have five, it's something, but they're mostly ignored, seeing that they are, you know, Marxist/Secular/Bi-National etc.)
