I made a thing
May. 24th, 2013 02:50 pmDoes anyone want a thing on a t-shirt? (Or have design suggestions?)

Latest updates: The Honourable Wife-Beater's guys are urging him to address the crack video. He's fired his chief of staff for telling him to get help. The Brothers Ford totally disappeared the dude with the video and you'll never find the body.

Cats and interior decor
Dec. 2nd, 2012 09:52 amWould you like to see a bunch of cat pictures and decorator porn? Why, of course you would!
So this is how my basement looked before. Not ugly, but certainly not very exciting either:

( This is how it looks now )
( Now for more cats. )

I'm gone a day and things are different
Nov. 29th, 2012 07:03 pmI have been off the intertubes for just over a day for reasons*. Did you miss me? Did you even notice?
Anyway I returned to find LJ all different now. But I actually like the new editor. It lets you change colours without having to memorize or look up the hex code. I approve! And it has spoiler tags, which is also cute.
By the way, the above colours are a crappy hex version of the colour scheme in my basement. Which is awesome. I don't think I've ever seen an awesomer basement and it's not even complete yet.
I still hate the icon interface, though.
* I got my basement painted and now it looks all cool, but the modem and router had to be disconnected in order to do so. Pictures to come after Saturday for reasons.**
** New couch!

Fortress of Solitude: The house tour
May. 18th, 2012 07:00 pmAre you sick of pictures of my house yet?
Because the renos are done, the pictures are hung, and I'm pretty stoked with the results.
( design geekery )
So that's my pad! Still a few little things to do, plus the basement (which is going to have to be repainted, but I eventually want to replace the futon with something not so ugly), but overall I think it's looking awesome.

New layout!
Oct. 24th, 2006 08:39 pmIt's done! And mostly how I envisioned it. (I wish I could play with the fonts—I had to change the title* so that it wouldn't overlap with the image—and colours a bit more.) But otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it.) It's more chipper than I generally feel, but I was never too happy with the brown one.
I vow to stop fiddling with it for awhile. No one really looks at it except me. But hey, I have to look at it every day. So there.
* Okay, it was an obscure reference, albeit not as obscure as "The Christie Pits Memorial Softball Team," which no one got (it's a reference to the 1933 Christie Pits Riots). "Don't despair; the whales have survived" is a line from Neville Shute's On the Beach, which I must have read over a decade ago, and it still resonates with me as one of the darkest punchlines in any novel, ever.

The death of the West
Jun. 5th, 2006 06:31 pmSome cultures deserve to perish.
But first, check out this kitty:

What a cute kitty.

Porn and self-promotion
Oct. 24th, 2005 01:22 pmAlberto Gonzales, who thought the scat, bestiality, and S&M porn that was Abu Ghraib was A-OK, seems to be up in arms about the same sort of thing when it's consensual. (Link is to
constintina's LJ, which in turn has further links and commentary.)
I guess the US government doesn't like competition or something.
Also, I posted about this in more detail on
free_palestine, but if you have $15 to spare, a blank space on your wall, and love in your heart, buy my poster, will ya? All proceeds go to Al-Awda Canada and feeding my ego.
I need more sleep. Didn't get any last night, which is rapidly becoming par for the course. Sigh.

Flippant Friday: Ask
sabotabby
Oct. 21st, 2005 12:05 pmReally. Ask me anything*. I'll answer it, in a manner of speaking.
Does anyone know, speaking of flippancy, where I can find the equivalent of this for the year ahead? I heard the new colours suck and I'm just dying to know! (Actually, it's for work, but I am curious and the Color Association makes you pay for it.)
* But if it broaches certain topics, I'll lock the post.
